OK. So I decided to give Fifty Shades a watch to see what all the fuss was about. I have read all three books, too. After all the hype in the media, and my Facebook newsfeed driving me insane, I settled down, and tried my hardest to get into it. The first downfall for me was the cast. I don't think they fitted the parts, purely because I didn't feel any chemistry between them whatsoever. I didn't root for them as much as I did, say Bella and Edward in Twilight (yeah, I know some people thinks these movies are cheesy) but Edward was a sweetheart, and the chemistry between them was apparant, you were dying for them to get together! When they kissed, when he saved her a few times, when they fought, there was chemistry. You could really see that he loved her, and would have done anything for her. I didn't get that with the Fifty Shades movie. It felt too formal for me. Even when they were trying to joke about, it felt forced somehow. I will say the parts that I did enjoy about it though, I loved the extravagant settings, the luxury lifestyle Mr. Grey led, the way that they met, and the soundtrack was pretty decent.
If I had to choose the cast of this movie, I would have chosen the below, as I believe they would have fit perfectly for the parts!
Christian Grey - Ryan Gosling, Charlie Hunnam, Christian Bale (American Physcho anyone?) I think they have a raw sexual energy, and would have been brilliant, not to mention, they look hot in a suit.
Ana Steele - Blake Lively (being brunette of course), Mila Kunis, Emma Stone. I think they have an innocence and cuteness about them, and would have played the part well.
